I'm Back

Blogging again! :)

A lot has happened since my last post… don’t even know where to start.  But I guess I can start with the most significant one… we had the baby! And she’s perfection! (borrowing Chandler’s line from Friends haha).  And we are just grateful everyday for this gift…

ella at 2 weeks old

So my one year or so in blogging hiatus is not spent in vain… but been busy being a mommy and loving every minute of it!  And that I’m back to work full-time.

Here is our Ella now who just turned one a few of months ago!  Time does fly… we still can’t believe she’s already one!  She’s walking, talking… loves to point at things to inquire… mimicking things… climbing on things… loves the ABC song and would watch the cooking shows with me, and not to forget Family Feud :) she just makes our home more a home than it already is.  I love this little family of mine!

One other thing that I wanted to share that happened since my last post was… My tatay (dad) passed away sudden and unexpected last year… he had a heart attack.  It’s still taking me a while to accept this reality and somehow still a little bit on denial about it. And it even pains me to write about it… but I just hold on to my faith and knowledge that someday we will see him again and be with him again.  He is such a good man and a loving father to us his children… who adores and loves my mom to no end.  I don’t think I have any bad memories about my dad… none.  Our Ella may not have met tatay in person but I know that he is watching over her every day. The last father’s blessing he gave me has been the result of incredible joy in my life as a woman and as a wife.  We missed him every day.

This made Ella’s first international trip at 6 months old to the Philippines! To be with my family on those difficult and sad times and to attend tatay’s wake and funeral service.  22 hours of total travel one way! Yayks! Not to say we didn’t panic about the idea… caused we did! New parents travelling with an infant overseas!  Another yayks! We’ve conceived every possible scenario that could happen on the trip and strategized on how we are going to handle it… we brought so much stuff… I mean a LOT of stuff just for her.  But it turned out she’s the most amazing baby on board an aircraft! Both going there and coming back.  I’m not sure if this is what makes it worked… but what we did is we stick to her routine schedule at home while on travel… when she eats, naps, and even our preps for bedtime and we let her crawl and wiggle and play in a blanket on our layovers.  She did fuzz … who wouldn’t?!  But very minimal… she sleeps pretty much the whole flight from Detroit to Japan going there and same thing from Japan to Detroit coming back which is the longest we have to take, 16 hrs!  What irks me though, and warren J is, when we get off the plane and in line to enter a country… people would see our baby and would be like “oh cute… are you the one crying?” Caused there are other babies on board and unfortunately they are not happy… but our Ella did so well! :) We didn’t say anything harming back of course :) just a “no, she actually did good” and a smile… after all, they did say she’s cute.

In the Philippines…

all smiles for tatay... missing him everyday.

Ok, so, I don’t think I should add more to this although I’m tempted too haha… but this is the highlights of what went about in our life since.

Hey, look at that… new look too! :)

Projects currently working on… My pregnancy book and Ella’s first year book.  Both are half way done. :)
